“Grietje” is a wonderfully looked after original sailing Dutch Tjalk that has been converted into a two/three bedroom liveaboard. Built in 1898 by DREWS HOOGEZAND as a working vessel, she is an originally riveted iron hull that has been fully over platted with 6mm steel. The vessel has been drydocked in 2021, with a full 35,000 PSI blast/strip back to a WJ2 standard. She then went through a full ultrasonic underwater survey, steel welding repairs completed, full suite of 14 new anodes and finally coated with a 10 year 2pac epoxy International paint system meaning she does not need to be re slipped until 2031. The bilges have also been cleaned and resealed from the interior.  She is sold with a complete 2021 boat survey (as well as survey/service history dating back to 2004) and also the option to take on the mooring at the Embankment Marina, Gravesend. With a keenness to keep the original lines of such a beautiful vessel, the only detraction from the original specification of the build is the fully collapsible wheel house at the stern. Outside of this, the original rigging, sails, deck equipment, mast, lee boards are all accounted for and in working order. The deck coaming has also been raised slightly to allow generous head room in the living area, but not so much it detracts from the lines.  She also comes fitted with a DAF 6 cylinder 195 HP engine that was serviced at the beginning of 2021 and was used to transport her from Gravesend to Hoo to be slipped and back again without missing a beat. The external topsides and coach roof have also benefited from full repaint recently so she is looking extremely pretty! Internally, the barge has received a full renovation using proper insulation covered over with painted marine moisture resistant ply. Coming down from the wheel house you come into an area affectionally known as the skippers cabin that could be used as an utility space or a home office or children’s play room. A new bathroom with full height stand up shower is on your right as you move through the boat and a toilet with a heated seat! Moving further on, a fully renovated kitchen sold with all white goods including a washing machine, full size gas double oven and hobs, plenty of storage space leading into  a wide open plan saloon living area. The saloon benefits from beautiful brass port holes and authentic brass skylights leaving the saloon area flooded with natural light. Forward of the mast step there is option of fitting in another bedroom before finally coming to the master cabin with has a built in queen size bed. The barge is warmed by an oil based boiler that takes it’s feed from the fuel tank, and with 11 radiators in the system leaves the living space toasty warm even in the coldest winter months. It also benefits from a beautifully ornate log burner in the main saloon. Grietje has been in our family since 2006, and took part in the 2012 Queen’s River Thames Pageant as one of the oldest boats on the river Thames. She has been very well looked after and cared for, and is ready to be moved onto straight away we look forward to passing over this fantastic piece of history. She was designed by Sparkman& Stephens and built at the highest standards under the direct survey of the RINA director of Livorno harbor. After a life as cruiser racer Malu’ received the most accurate and respectfull restoration and she is better than ever. Sailing Malu’ is just like diving in the past and her elegant lines and details are highlighted by new rigging, new sails, new engine and systems, new closets and interior furniture and new tapestry.The hull was completely emptied to provide a general refit and to protect her from the risk of osmosis (she had no osmosis anyway) the hull was treated with epoxy resin. The restoration was surveyed by one of the best known Italian expert, and in our experience of hundreds classic yachts to offer to demanding customers we have been amazed reading his survey. The plan was to make her perfect and beutifull. No energy was spared. Between 2010-13 The boat was emptied completely to  bare hull and treated with epoxy resin outside and inside. The deck was relaminated with void technology before fitting a new teak deck. New beams set under the deck and cabin. LLC OWNED Built 1967. Extensive Retrofit from 1998 to 2019. Like New Condition.  Steel Motorsailer yachts used to be popular vessels for world sailors until the 70s. The arrival of production yachts in the 60s and the explosion of the charter industry in the following years changed the public perception of yachting. Today only a few builders offer customized options at a premium price.  Iolair Mara is a unique yacht built-in CA in the late sixties. Her ¼ inch steel hull, her tri keels design, her 5’6”’ draft, and her 3000 nm range under power will sail expeditions all around the globe or entertain charter clients in the Bahamas, HI, or Alaska.  In 1998 she was hauled out for a $ 2.5 M retrofit that was 60 % completed in 2005. A series of dramatic events follow. She was sized. Stayed 6 years on the hard shrink-wrapped. The actual owner got her out of the yard in 2012, completed the 40% remaining refit to get her to her original glory. She was lucky to have found John. It has been a perfect match for both of them. John loves a strong, well-powered world cruiser. He is now proud to offer this showcase vessel for a portion of the price it would cost to build her today. A set of zincs is available on the vessel. She is well balanced and comfortable in strong weather thanks to her ketch rig. Keels cooled engine and generator for dry exhausts. The 2 side keel is filled with antifreeze. Only 3 though hull on the boat; intake for the head and the intake sea chest. Another through-hull in the side for the water maker. SPIRIT The 54.4m Spirit, built as part of the successful Amels 177 Limited Edition Series, was delivered in 2011 and recently refitted in 2020. Spirit's exterior, designed by Tim Heywood Design Ltd, features vast outdoor areas ideal for entertainment. The light, bright interior design by Dôme Project Interiors can accommodate up to 11 guests across 5 cabins (Master suite, 2 VIP cabins, 1 king double cabin, and 1 massage room that can be converted into a 6th cabin, all ensuite) and 14 crew members including the captain. Maintained to high standards by her captain and crew, Spirit has completed in 2021 Lloyd's 10-years survey, undergone a full repaint of the steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and had servicing of her mechanical/electrical components, including engines, stabilisers, generators, and pumps. MENTOR is a round bilge steel schooner, the hull design is a copy of the Royal Navy’s sea cadet training brigantine “TS Royalist”. She was built to Lloyds A1 survey requirements with 4 main watertight bulkheads and a total of 6 watertight doors. The vessel was built in Fremantle Western Australia by Hoffland Boatbuilders and was completed in time for chartering during the 1987 America’s cup Challenge in Fremantle that year. Designed for chartering, she did so for five years including three years in the Whitsunday islands on the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland. MENTOR moved into SE Asian waters some decades ago as home to her original owner and he has enjoyed life afloat for these past years but now sees the time to move to a smaller yacht. He hands the vessel to a new owner in constantly maintained condition, can help with all manner of technical information, indeed he has written manuals on all aspects of maintaining his yacht from refrigeration to removing the rudder.... In fact the vessel has also spent many years ashore here in Langkawi when the owner was away to work. The vessel is a truly well maintained vessel and deserves the attention of anyone seeking a charter yacht or expedition type vessel.
