 /" Kalevala /" is a rare 74' Hatteras Motor Yacht with four staterooms. She sports a fiberglass hard top on the bridge and the bottom was just painted late last year. She has been well cared for by her previous owners and it shows. Her 1300 HP 3412-A Caterpillar engines were rebuilt in 2013 by Pantropic in Miami. This was a complete rebuild by removing the engines from the boat and sent to Pantropic. The port engine received a new block then both were Dyno tested with all new up dates. The engines were painted and reinstalled in the boat. These engines had approx. 25 hours on them when the current owner bought the boat. They now have approx. 100 hours sense the rebuild.

It is widely documented that the first owner of Riva Aquarama # 3 was the Great Diva Sophia Loren, who became its owner in 1963, in fact it was delivered to her in Rome on March 11th 1963 by the Riva Boat Center of Fiumicino. In the Riva production, the first Aquarama was in 1962 the Tritone #214 ‘Lipicar’, consequently the list of Aquaramas starts from # 2. The # 2 and # 3 are the only ones that still have their sides in planks and are identical to those of the Tritone series of 1963, they are 8.02 m. long and 2.60 m. wide and the engines are two Chris-Craft mod. 283 with V8 cylinders of 185 HP. The Aq #3 has all the upholstery in light ivory vipla, as Sophia wanted it and exceptionally Ing. Riva agreed to produce (as paper available signed by Ing. Carlo Riva), unlike the other Aquaramas of the first series with upholstery in black and ivory vipla with orange profiles and mats. The Aq #3 ex Sophia Loren is visible by appointment on Lake Garda and available for sale, restored in the mid-90s and in 2007, is still preserved in good condition and well working, the engines are matching number. Both shaft bearings were replaced last year(2023.) New antifouling, cleaning and polishing the entire ship. This includes annual maintenance and checking the functionality of the engines, gearboxes and generator. All filters, zinc anodes and oils were replaced. In 2023, the exhaust system (partly stainless steel) of both engines and the generator were replaced as a preventative measure. The cooling water circuit including the heat exchangers were completely removed, dismantled and cleaned. Seawater pump was dismantled, cleaned, new seals and new impeller. The hydraulics for the gangway, davids and gearbox were serviced by a specialist company, valves were replaced and adjusted. Hydraulic hoses completely replaced. The ship is equipped with WiFi via a digital yacht system. Autopilot, plotter, radar and depth gauge communicate with each other via nmea 2000. Victron charger, charging control and battery monitoring as well as solar system are monitored via mobile phone app or iPad. The entire ship has been converted from 16 to 32 amps on the shore power side. This means that both air conditioning systems, stove, oven or microwave, TV and radio can be operated at the same time. Teak deck was replaced with Plasdeck in 2021. The 1000l water tank and both 1000l diesel tanks were removed years ago at great expense and replaced with stainless steel tanks. Both engines had to be removed for this and could then be thoroughly checked by the shipyard. Both toilets are electric and equipped with new pumps, seals and hoses (2022.)
