The award winning open yacht 1K was built in 2013 by Overmarine in Italy at their Viareggio shipyard as the 30th and last in the yard’s Mangusta 108 series. Built with a GRP hull and superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by twin diesel MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 24 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 30 knots with a range of up to 420 nautical miles. Her low draft makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. 1K features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. 1K completed her 10-year class survey in Spring 2023. 1K's exterior design is the work of Stefano Righini and it is perfect for escaping to sea with friends and family. The suites' interior features Grecian pillars and lush soft furnishings balanced by high-gloss black onyx surfaces, creating elegant reflections of light. Baccarat sanitaryware and bespoke door handles by TGH Paris and Sicis have also contributed to the yacht’s refined edge. The owner of this very nice gaff schooner had one childhood dream; one day, he will build his dream yacht, a simple, timeless appearance and elegant gaff schooner; the one you can see when you close your eyes and imagine /"a nice sailboat/"... But all this was also inspired by the regatta experience he had and also by the Daniel BOMBIGHER's designs, this is the reason why Hervé COUTAND was appointed with the general hull shape and design. Wether the general lines were to be as classical as possible, the underwater design, with a very modern rigging (aluminium masts and Dyneema standing rigging) had to be efficient, no way to stick on the water... And here we are. Mais son passé de régatier a apporté quelques modifications à cela, les dessins de Daniel Bombigher aussi, et c'est donc tout naturellement Hervé Coutand qui fut choisi pour la dessiner. Si la ligne devait rester classique, il fallait tout de même que la carène, servie par un gréement très moderne (mâts aluminium et gréement dormant Dyneema...) soit efficace, pas question de trainer de l'eau.
