JOB PURPOSE: This position is to provide leadership to a dedicated regional team of food security analysts and geographic information system (GIS) experts as well as technically overseeing and supporting country level vulnerability analysis and mapping efforts to ensure that the most reliable and up-to-date evidence is available at all times to inform WFP's portfolio of work. Responsibility will include leadership and strategic guidance in areas such as emergency needs assessments, food security monitoring, climate analysis, context analysis, beneficiary targeting, market analysis, nutrition assessments, cost effectiveness and operational efficiency. The Senior Vulnerability Analysis & Mapping Officer will work under the direct supervision of the regional Head of Programme.
