“Grietje” is a wonderfully looked after original sailing Dutch Tjalk that has been converted into a two/three bedroom liveaboard. Built in 1898 by DREWS HOOGEZAND as a working vessel, she is an originally riveted iron hull that has been fully over platted with 6mm steel. The vessel has been drydocked in 2021, with a full 35,000 PSI blast/strip back to a WJ2 standard. She then went through a full ultrasonic underwater survey, steel welding repairs completed, full suite of 14 new anodes and finally coated with a 10 year 2pac epoxy International paint system meaning she does not need to be re slipped until 2031. The bilges have also been cleaned and resealed from the interior.  She is sold with a complete 2021 boat survey (as well as survey/service history dating back to 2004) and also the option to take on the mooring at the Embankment Marina, Gravesend. With a keenness to keep the original lines of such a beautiful vessel, the only detraction from the original specification of the build is the fully collapsible wheel house at the stern. Outside of this, the original rigging, sails, deck equipment, mast, lee boards are all accounted for and in working order. The deck coaming has also been raised slightly to allow generous head room in the living area, but not so much it detracts from the lines.  She also comes fitted with a DAF 6 cylinder 195 HP engine that was serviced at the beginning of 2021 and was used to transport her from Gravesend to Hoo to be slipped and back again without missing a beat. The external topsides and coach roof have also benefited from full repaint recently so she is looking extremely pretty! Internally, the barge has received a full renovation using proper insulation covered over with painted marine moisture resistant ply. Coming down from the wheel house you come into an area affectionally known as the skippers cabin that could be used as an utility space or a home office or children’s play room. A new bathroom with full height stand up shower is on your right as you move through the boat and a toilet with a heated seat! Moving further on, a fully renovated kitchen sold with all white goods including a washing machine, full size gas double oven and hobs, plenty of storage space leading into  a wide open plan saloon living area. The saloon benefits from beautiful brass port holes and authentic brass skylights leaving the saloon area flooded with natural light. Forward of the mast step there is option of fitting in another bedroom before finally coming to the master cabin with has a built in queen size bed. The barge is warmed by an oil based boiler that takes it’s feed from the fuel tank, and with 11 radiators in the system leaves the living space toasty warm even in the coldest winter months. It also benefits from a beautifully ornate log burner in the main saloon. Grietje has been in our family since 2006, and took part in the 2012 Queen’s River Thames Pageant as one of the oldest boats on the river Thames. She has been very well looked after and cared for, and is ready to be moved onto straight away we look forward to passing over this fantastic piece of history. REFIT 2020 / 2021 - very neat Sunseeker Portofino 53 from 2007, German flag, EU VAT paid and with impeccable ship documentation and maintenance history. This MY is equipped with the MAN i6 (D28) diesel engines, each with 800hp as well as with bow and stern thruster, making navigation within narrow bays and maneuvering in port a pushover. With a cruising speed of around 19 to 20 knots, the engines run at around 1,650 rpm and a combined consumption of 150 l/h, the maximum speed is an impressive 32 knots at 3,200 rpm, with the MAN engine display providing information about the current fuel consumption to calculate the remaining range at all times. In addition to the large hard top, which can be opened electrically, and the sunbathing area above the tender garage, the bright and teak-laid cockpit area also offers a seating area with a teak table on the aft deck, which can be easily stowed away in the side wall if necessary, as well as a wetbar with sink, freezer and refrigerator to find all the amenities of daily needs on deck. Below deck, this Portofino 53 comfortably accommodates up to 5 people in two double cabins, each with bathroom en-suite, and a third cabin with a single bed, even for longer trips. The necessary comfort is ensured by the spacious living room with separate kitchenette - equipped with refrigerator, ceramic hob (induction) and microwave oven - as well as the newly installed air conditioning system in connection with the generator (Kohler, 9kVa). Entertainment on board is guaranteed at all times, even in bad weather, thanks to the installed TV and sound system - consisting of 3 TVs and a fusion radio with Bluetooth connection, loudspeakers on and below deck as well as a subwoofer and amplifier for optimal sound. This Portofino was last fully serviced in May 2024, service records are available up to 2017. The extensive refit program in the past two years included an investment volume of around €200,000 in addition to the annual service.

The boat was built in 2007 and launched in 2008. She has had two owners who have done cruises and regattas in the Mediterranean. It is a versatile boat which is very maneuverable and comfortable for cruising for 6 and very efficient in regattas with a crew of 10-11 people. In regattas it can be used in both Inshore races and Offshore races. The boat has always been methodically and professionally maintained to keep it in perfect working order. All spare equipment is packaged and stored in a garage protected from bad weather. The boat has been extensively refitted and optimized in recent years and the main works were redone in 2022 with sandblasting, sanding, smoothing and regatta antifouling. The boat is visible in St Maxime until December and then in Port Pin Rolland, where it will be put dry for winter storage. It is ready to sail since everything necessary is on board and in perfect working order. The boat is for sale for two major reasons: change of regatta program and decision to invest in a round-the-world boat in 2024. The boat is performing well in his class and has reached very good results in many regattas in different racing fields.Hull and deck Polyester and GRP fiberglass, polyester fiberglass sandwich with galvanized steel structure Keel: cast iron sail and lead bulb, bulb weight 2,730kg Saffron: carbon wick, infused resin, carbon steering wheel Self-guiding lower bearing replaced 2023, as well as all the steering wheel bearings.
