La prima edizione di questa chitarra ci riporta al 1962 quando Eko decide di produrre una serie di chitarra folk basata sul popolare shape Dreadnough, molto di moda in America in quei tempi. La prima chitarra 6 corde prese il nome di J54 ed ebbe da subito un immediato successo per suonabilità e prezzo. Per rispondere alla domanda di molti affezionati, Eko continua la tradizione della Ranger con la serie Vintage Reissue che prevede diverse caratteristiche come nei modelli originali, come il manico bolt-on, selletta regolabile in alluminio, zero-fret e dot rettangolari. Tecnicamente migliorata, mantiene la stessa combinazione di legni, con mogano per fasce e fondo e Abete per il top. Un look retrò grazie al battipenna rivisitato mantenendo la tipica forma del passato.
